It has been almost 14 years since I first began my journey with web design
In essence bigego is just me Dimitri Seirlis. I love to work with individual clients, charities and business clients of all sizes. Being "bi-lingual" means that I can speak "geek" & "business speak", but would much rather discuss and advise you in "plain English".
My odyssey began with the need to develop an e-commerce shopping cart back in the heyday of 1997. My wife needed an e-commerce shopping cart system to sell her "Witchy stuff" as we call it. With the lack of any decent design or SEO, I decided to tackle the problem myself, and since then I have never looked back.
My core work is web design, e-commerce and web application development, but over the years I have built on my skills and now offer a wide range of related services including internet marketing, and print design.
Keep up
My journey has meant a constant developmental flow based in the application of CSS, PHP, Typography, composition, grids & frameworks, space, form, colour theory, semantics, seo and usability (and there is so much more). A lot has come and gone in good practice terms over the years, with many that were used in the past just not being relevant today, the industry is/has changed so much, you just have to keep the finger on the pulse at all times.
Relentless march
The relentless march of time and change is a challenge in keeping up with the latest best practices. Thankfully I have continued to invest many hours in doing just that, and worked with Corporates, SME's, Individuals with the need for "a site", other Designers, Developers, Graphic Artists, Mambo Server CMS team and more, and this is ultimately means I can provide you with the best current practices.
Careering on
My previous experience has been in Foreign Banking in London, an Aviation Service Rep. in the UK and Benelux, Hotel Sales and Marketing, and then IT/Design related employment. I like to think I can bring my understanding of your needs to any project - thus ensuring your particular project is looked at from your perspective, rather than just a design one. I consider no job too small, and welcome your requests.
Reputation
The majority of my work comes from referrals and recommendations. The work I do is governed by 4 guiding principles: Best practice, simplicity, user-centred design, and consistency by working with my customers to provide effective business solutions that offer a real return on investment.
Dreams
I dreamt of being the next Zukerberg, but without the thick glasses years ago, but ultimately what I do now, and the clients I work with make this the best job in the world to me, and they are the best advert for what I do. Please take a browse through the portfolio of work to see.
