Pricing & Scope

Custom / Bespoke

£32/ hour ~ For any bespoke design, the pricing will be based on my hourly rate of £32/hour depending on the projected length of time to complete. You will be provided with all related files and source files as required, and after discussing your requirements and supplying you with a formal quote, I would then require a deposit prior to starting on the project. Upon completion and payment in full all source files can be provided.

New Website

Starting at £600 ~ For a new design of a site, the pricing will have to be appropriate to your needs. You may only need a "brochure" site with a minimum of pages and static content. alternatively, you may prefer the same but with "content management" allowing you to post and change content including images when you need to without having to pay every time to upload an image or change text. I follow the same procedures stated already. I like Wordpress as a very flexible all round blog & content management system, that is the Swiss army knife of CMS's.

E-Commerce

Starting at £1700 ~ For an online store, with domain and free hosting for 1 year, this is a starting cost for the setup of a basic store without product entry. I use and work with JShop Server e-commerce system, but can equally work my magic with other cart systems. JShop however is a cost effective and complete well developed cart with shipping, digital goods, product options and article pages and much more that works with many merchant providers such as Paypal or Secpay. E-Commerce projects take more preparation and time. Ultimately the more you can contribute, such as provide or add images, the less the end price will be.

Alterations

For alterations or updates to an existing site / page etc, I would need to discuss your requirements first, including the existing system your site is built on. If you have been having problems obtaining a willing designer to take on this sort of work, it may help to know that these kinds of projects can cause many unforeseen headaches and issues "price and project creep" as it is called for all concerned. I am happy to take a look though, and will give an honest appraisal and advice.

Search Engine Optimisation

I don't, well I do of course, but mainly during the development of a new site by incorporating all the "golden rules" a simple example is keeping title tags no longer than 75 characters in length, and ensuring web analytics are in place to provide the data about your visitors and trends, without which there can be no targeted approach or specific solutions. I also know some good people that can help you with an online strategy, but be prepared, this can cost quite a bit of money. I will happily advise you when working on your project, and much can be done with a bit of your own time and a simple system of regularly updating content. I can also carry out usability evaluations.
